Therapy at GAP
At GAP we are a group of qualified, licenced and experienced therapists who will support you in a safe and confidential environment.
Difficulties that usually bring people to therapy include:
Stress, Anxiety, Depression
Relationship Difficulties
Self Esteem Issues
Loneliness
Sexuality Exploration
We know the transformative effect therapy can have and we have been working with clients for over thirty years since 1994.
We invite you to take a first step by attending our initial exploratory session, in-person or online, so we can get to know you, discuss your issues and help you determine a way forward.
The Exploratory Session takes approx. one hour and the fee is €80.

Individual Therapy
Individual Therapy involves meeting regularly (usually weekly) with a qualified therapist for one-to-one appointments.
The setting is confidential and provides a safe place to explore your difficulties.
Over time the relationship between you and the therapist develops and communication deepens to bring about more insight to the difficulties you are experiencing.

Group Therapy
Group Therapy takes place in a group setting run by a qualified group therapist working with a small number of group members together as a group.
The setting is private and confidential and members of the group do not meet each other outside of the setting.
The group meets on a weekly basis and issues raised by group members are shared and supported by each group member.
This brings about significant learning, greater self-awareness and insight. In addition, one gains insight into how differently each of us relate. It helps with understanding your patterns of relating with others and leads to improved confidence and healthier relationships. You can find your voice and feel less on the outside of family and group situations.

Referring into GAP
Whilst most of our clients are self-referrals, we receive referrals from GPs, Psychiatrists, Psychologists and other health care professionals. A Practice Director is available for phone discussions if there is a query on whether a referral is suitable for therapy at GAP. We work in partnership with referrers as appropriate and respect the limitations of therapy when diagnosis and/or medical intervention is the best recourse. We will direct referrers and clients on if we believe an onward referral is the most appropriate route for a client.
